Waiting for the school bus

Every morning we all wait outside for Gabriel's school bus to arrive. It usually shows up after 0720am, but we hang outside for the fresh air and the cooler weather. Gabriel usually is pretty excited to get out and wait. He literally runs to the end of the driveway once he hears and sees the bus coming down the street. He seems very happy to go to school and the hardest part of it all is getting him up sometimes in the morning. Then the battle cry of "NO SCHOOL!" comes out until he wakes up a bit and decides it is time to find his little baby sister.

Virginia Aquarium

Gabriel and Izzy got to spend the afternoon with Gramma, Aunt Christine and cousin D aka Christiana. It was a rainy day, but we got to enjoy the newly renovated aquarium. Gabriel was scared of the shark tank and it was impossible to get a photo of him. The one posted is about as close to it he would get and even then he would not turn his back to the glass wall. Izzy on the other hand had no fear. Sadly, it was not possible to get a decent photo of her in the dark room without the flash. As you can see, they all had a great time with Gramma and she of course, spoiled them all with a "surprise" gift from the gift shop and lunch.

Izzy HATES tummy time.

Here she is...tummy time and Izzy hates it. As you can see, she starts off happy and motivated. Then it gets ugly when she tires out quickly and is unable to move her heavy body with her little arms. Eventually, she falls flat on her face and only comes up to surface for air and to let out a few distress cries for help. Poor baby. Maybe she will skip crawling and go straight to walking.

Where's the cake(batter)???

Isabella sitting on Gramma's kitchen counter helping as much as she can. She is all ready to start licking the cake batter whenever the time comes. Such a good little helper.

More Brains!

Gabriel loves to interact with Izzy and lets her pull his hair and try to chew on him. He gets upset when she is not around and insists that she "wake up" from her nap. She is at the age where she likes to try to grab things she is interested in and it will most likely end up in her mouth. This includes her brothers big fat head. Izzy leans side to side in her attempts to reach for what is around her. When she is tired of one toy, she throws it out of her way and moves on to the next one. That a girl!

First day of pre-school!

Gabriel was not ready to get up in the morning, but once he was up, he was all revved up to catch the bus. We ended up waiting outside for over 30 mins for the bus to arrive.
Gabriel ended up entertaining himself for a good while. He didn't have any troubles getting on the bus. Thank goodness.
New bigger badder backpack....$15
New spiffy school clothes....$20+
Crooked Haircut....FREE, but had to get a $7 Thomas toy afterwards.
Looking like the cutest pre-schooler in Va....PRICELESS!

My 2 babies

Aren't they cute? I managed to get a photo of Gabriel that I could post on here. Izzy is able to sit up by herself, but will still wobble to the side and fall since her balance isn't all that great yet. It was her first experience sitting and touching grass @ Gramma's house. I also took a photo of her hairline so you can see her hair is growing...finally!

Izzy LOVES Watermelon!

Izzy loves to suck on watermelon. She will watch you eat it and lean forward to tell you she wants some too. She gets greedy and uses her gums to gnaw on it. Sometimes she will get a small piece to mash around in her mouth. Izzy isn't interested on the baby food, but she does like solid food a whole lot.

Our Thursdays

Hayden comes over 3X/week while his mother is in school. Usually, Leah comes but on Thursdays it is just Hayden. He gets all of our attention. He is my handsome little nephew and Izzy just loves him. She wants to touch him and reaches from him from her chair. She recognizes him and gets so excited when she sees him. Here she is sitting in her Bumbo and loves to play with her little Pooh tambourine. She even hits it with the other hand as she shakes it. She has toys all around her and she picks what she is interested in playing with.
Gabriel is a bit indifferent and favors his little sister...as it should be, but my big little boy thinks he is a baby and wants to get the same things as the 2 babies get. Sitting in the Bumbo-no problem. Chillin' in the baby swing- no biggie! Wanting to be feed like he is a baby-that's OK too. I understand he is going to have some regression issues with a new little sister and cousin. Still, the other day, Gabriel told me he wanted to be diaper changed on the changing table...um, I don't think so.

Bathtime!

Guess who helps with bath time? It usually is Gabriel, but he was busy so Pooh stepped in.
She gets fussy now when it is time to dry off. She prefers to be in the water.
Here she is almost all done. I had to take a photo of her sitting. She is almost there!!! Such a big little girl.
